If a finished product weighs 120g, you will need to use about 40g of terrazzo speckles (and/or gold/silver glitter). The other part of the weight (80g) will form the base color. You will need twice as much gypsum as liquid. So to make the base color you will need about 80g/3=27g liquid and 27g x 2=54g gypsum.
These are the total weights you will need for each mold. We always give a slightly high amount, which can cause you to spill a little material. Of course, once you have more experience, you can reduce this amount.
- Mold - hexagon pot : 250g
- Mold - coaster (asymmetrical oval shape): 225g
- Mold - soap dishes ( short waves, long waves, asymmetrical ): 195g
- Mold - round tea light holder : 150g
- Mold - flower stone ( full ): 250g
- Mold - flower stone ( donut ): 250g
- Mold - Helena vase small (diy box - terrazzo gifts): 100g
- Mold - Helena vase / card holder Large (diy box - terrazzo gifts): 450g
- Mold - scale arch L: 1000g
Take 1 part liquid and 2 parts plaster. For example 100g liquid and 200g plaster.
All DIY raw materials, pigments and coatings are water-based. Breathing in dust is of course never good, so it is best to always sand under the tap so that no dust gets into the air. This makes our materials completely safe to use at home, with children and during pregnancy. If you use the materials without gloves, you can of course get dry skin. Do not hesitate to contact us to receive the MSDS sheets!
No problem! Just download one of our tutorials above for a very detailed explanation of how to make terrazzo. :)
